Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Beautiful weather today so headed out a for a short tour at lunchtime while the nipper slept.

Started at Hauts de Caux heading towards Rochers de Naye.

Lovely views looking back down towards Lac Leman

Made it up onto the shoulder as time ran out...

Found a good spot to descend from

Few cm of fresh on a hard base - a bit like spring skiing

Nice open slopes under the Rochers de Naye

Descending through the forest - this old dude's got a nice view....

Great way to spend a lunchtime!

BobinCH, Really like your photos, and as usual they are great quality/ composition. Would you mind telling me what type of camera, filters and settings (ie sport mode?) you use. Keen to improve my own camera work, and would appreciate your comments.

Keep the photos coming!! Looks like a great trip out.

Markymark29, I usually take my DSLR these days. No filters or fancy settings. Some cropping and occasional fiddling with exposure afterwards in iPhoto. I've also got a Point and shoot which in decent light is just as good for scenery shots (see this thread for an example http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=83317&highlight= ) but it is useless for action shots or low light which is when the DSLR comes into its own. It's obviously more hassle carrying around a DSLR but I anyway always carry a 30l avalanche pack which is rarely full and I can get the camera in and out pretty quickly without taking off the pack.
