Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

European school holidays - how to avoid ?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi there,

I'm sure someone will know the answer to this ..... (no pressure now)....

Some website produces a nice concise list of when the schools shut in the major EU countries that would then move those kids onto the slopes ... i.e. the times at which a normal sane adult would not wish to be there as well

... can anyone enlighten me as to where one would find such a list
.. or can anyone provide details of when the school holidays are scheduled for this coming season

and i'll start with the easyone - French holidays:

Hiver Spring 2005
ZONE A 18/02 - 06/03
ZONE B 11/02 - 27/02
ZONE C 04/02 - 20/02

Frosty the Snowman, have managed to avoid the first part of the above as yet, but the other half has just started with the teaching profession so that will reduce the ability to take a sneaky ski break outside of school holidays to virtually nothing (except the popular Irish ski week around St. Patricks Day of course !)

doogo, do as I do: one week with partner who teaches, plus several other trips outside of school holidays with others or on your own.

How do visitor numbers to US resorts change during/outside school holidays? Is it like Europe where the number of visitors seems to treble during the winter half-term?

I was in Jackson Hole over New Year many years back, it was supposedly busy, but it was quiet in European terms, very little queueing if any!
