Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Have just booked for St Anton departing 30/12 so will not have much time for research.
Any tips for a good new years eve would be welcome.

Pack your hardcore liver, buy some fireworks, enjoy. You will struggle to not have a good time. Personally Bar Cuba is one of my favourite drinking spots in St Anton, but Kandahar and Picadilly will have a more club-like vibe.

it's all good. i went there last year and went to krazy kanguruh on NYE, but it was a very young scene (what i wanted as im 1Cool. watch out in the square though - you get lots of nutters firing fireworks out of bottles and last year more than a few went flying in the wrong direction

spenney, Have not been at NY but believe all the usual haunts are open normal hours, ie Moos, KK etc. As pdx, says I think it gets a but mental with fireworks etc on Hogmanay (as it is in the rest of the Alps - Austria certainly). I would grab a few on slope pints at the Griabli (opposite Moos) and hopefully you'll get some live music, then head over to Moos for a few more and then ski into village (possibly taking in Underground on The Piste en route). It's always worth catching Gunar IMO at Kandahar too.
I'm sure whatever you end up doing it will be excellent.
Enjoy

Or, my "bah humbug" advice... go for a couple of beers after skiing, eat dinner before it gets crazy then go to bed. Get on the first lift on Jan 1st and have the mountain to yourself until about midday.

spenney, Austrian's do take a more "adventurous" approach to letting off fireworks on New Year's Eve. To get into the spirit acquire a furry pig hat and be prepared to eat pork.

OMG - scariest ski experience in St Anton - not the skiing (though that had its moments!) but the New Year fireworks -rockets in the street going off in every direction and hiding in a doorway, wondering how I would justify ski holiday injuries that were burns!! Luckily I survived!! And the slopes were VERY quiet on New Years Day Very Happy
