Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am a sociable 38 year old intermediate(cruisy reds, occasional blacks, lots of coffee stops and bar skiing for vin chaud) looking for a week away skiing anywhere between 23/12 and 3/1 but ideally for 1 week from 26/12, would prefer own room, nice place, other solo travellers and catered -it is a holiday after all:), was looking at club med but ridiculous single supplement, anyone got space in a chalet, know a nice friendly sociable hotel or any other suggestions gratefully received, I live south coast so could fly from london/bristol/bournemouth/southampton. thanks for any help

Hi there - I'm just in the process of booking with Mark Warner - they offer buddy up room shares and it's around the £600 mark for a fully catered chalet including flights and transfers. I'm booking to go to Tignes on 24th, flights are from Birmingham though, that's the only catch. Oh the other stuff! 44, female, Surrey based and by the sounds of things, the same ski holiday ethic!

I also looked at Club Med but they are ridiculously pricey. Don't they know there's a recession on? Happy

LornaF, are you comparing like with like? Some recent SH reports about Club Med have found them good value, given how much is included.

Thanks Pam w - they are undeniably good value for the money as you get so much included, however I don't want the lessons and didnt' want to pay any more than £650 so have gone with MW. All booked now, off to Tignes on Saturday!
