Is there anywhere in the Lakes you can go Skiing at this time of year, i mean even if there is no snow down here i am wondering if it is a high mountainous range which will be snow covered. Also where would be the best place to stay and best websites to use? thanks in advance.

here you go
ONE of the country’s highest flushing loos has been christened in a mountain ceremony with a difference.
CEREMONY: The opening of a toilet on Helvellyn – one of the highest flushing toilets in the country The toilet has been opened at 2,500ft on the flanks of Helvellyn – the Lake District’s third highest mountain.
It has taken 75 years to bring the convenience to one of the most inconvenient locations in the country.
It has been possible thanks to the Lake District Ski Club, which has 240 members, many of whom helped with the project.

Yad Moss waiting for a bit more cover, but webcam starting to look promising.

Here's a map:

The nearest road access is by the Youth Hostel on the RHS but I'm not certain you can park there - it may be back in the village down the hill. The ski lift starts near the hut marked on the NE slope of Raise. Each blue sqaure represents a kilometre and each thin contour represents 10m of altitude.

snowball, that's only a 50k map. I can only presume that OS deem that Pomas are not significant enough to mark at that scale. However, zoom in by clicking on the 'plus' and you'll get the 25k which does have it marked.
Perhaps I should have used this link instead:

I do like Streetmap for its quick access to real OS maps.
