We are going to spend 2 weeks this year in Alps.
I need to buy skipass for 2 weeks and a photo is needed.
Can you please advise me please why they require a photo?

waldek, When you go through the lift gate it reads your pass and shows your photo on a screen in the lift where the lift man sits. How they can see your face when you have helmet , goggles etc i am not sure but the lift people tell me that they can

No they dont check every time if its hands free, but sometimes do spot checks, depends on the resort

I though we can share few skipasses between adults? it is really not possible ?

waldek, I'm not sure that there's much of a saving buying a 2-week pass over 2x 1 week passes. Obviously none of them are supposed to be transferable, but the 1 week ones generally do not have photographic evidence as expertly demonstrated by Samerberg Sue and espri. So buying 6 lots of 2x1-week passes might work out cheaper for your group than buying 8 x 2-week passes.

I know its to make more money from us but I could never understand why they would mind as only one person can ski and use the lifts at a time. So why would it matter if couples sharing childcare also shared a ski pass?

(What you said and) For the same reason that a restaurant offering an all you can eat buffet does not let you share it, even if you agree not to both go up (or eat) at the same time. Sure, so people can ski (or eat) open to close, but most need a bit of a break.
I forget where I heard about it, but did hear of at least one resort offering the type of pass you are talking about- think it was a season pass deal allowing for parents to have a transferable pass as part of a family deal. I don't remember if they charged more than a regular adult pass or not;
