When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dizin, Iran's leading ski area, will host the World Grass Skiing Championships to be held from 6 to 10 September. At least 11 countries are sending teams.

The grass for this event is an irrigated strip which is under the snow of a piste for a large part of the year.
The other sort of grass is not so widely available in the Islamic Republic. The smell is a bit of a give away. But opium is quite common. It's not unusal for a middle class Iranian party to have a smoking room where the men retire for a pipe or two. I stuck to the bootleg vodka. Cool
