Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

British VI racer Kelly Gallagher in desperate need of a guide for Dec & Jan

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Message from Sue Greenberg:

The British Disabled Ski Team is desperately searching for a guide for our VI skier, Kelly Gallagher during December and January. We need someone that is available during that timeframe, with no restrictions. They will have a break for Christmas/New Years. Skiing skills should include a background in FIS racing but they don't need to be a superstar. Kelly competes in all events (SL, GS, SG, DH) so the guide needs to be competent in all of these.

The guide will have all travel, hotel, food, lift tickets paid. There is a stipend of 30 GBP/day (this could change).

Please let us know if you can help get the word out. We have been on this quest for over a month with several false starts and it's getting down to the wire.

They have exhausted all avenues, so if anyone has any ideas please reply here.

Thanks

Hi beanie1,

I'm not a FIS racer and so wouldn't be able to do it myself - she'd overtake me before the first bend!

But we'd be happy to help you look by putting a free ad up on our blog if it helps? Comes up quite high in searches . . .If you'd like an ad up can you send me a short description like you've got above plus a couple of pics (don't have to be of Kelly if you don't have any) and we'll put it up today. .

The blog is here: http://www.ice-fire.co.uk/blog/

My e-mail is heather(at)ice-fire(dot)co(dot)uk with the words replaced by their symbols.

Best wishes,
Heather

Sue,

I've put a thread on the SCGB Forum with your request.

I've said to contact the British Disabled Ski Team if anyone can help.

Good Luck.

Have you tried Racer Ready magazine? (Neil McQuoid - neil@racer-ready.co.uk)
His website is probably read by some FIS-level racers...

I met kelly and her guide, Charlotte Evans, in Tignes today whilst they were training for the FIS events to celebrate 20 years since the Olympics were held in Albertville. The British Team are being represented by Kelly, who is a visually impaired skier, and another lady, whos name i have forgotten, who competes in a sit ski. The events are being attended by all the main ski nations, notably France, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, America, Italy, Russia, Slovakia & Germany.

The training was being filmed for TV so hopefully we may see some footage on Eurosport.

The races are being held all week on the main stade in Val Claret so if your are currently in Tignes try and watch a few of these atheletes who are trully insperational.

Think that would be the frankly scary fast Anna Turney.

Oh, and congrats to Kelly & Charlotte
