Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Contamines lift passes

We have 5 maybe 6 days booked in Les Contamines over Christmas - will the local pass (Les Contamines - Hautleuce) be enough, or should we pay the extra for a Mont Blanc Evasion pass which includes Megeve and the surrounding area? We will have a car. We assume there will be some snow....

There'll be enough to keep you occupied in LC for 5/6 days..................... It kept me more than happy for 119days without the need to go and see some fur coats!

If I had more than 3 days and a car to drive the 10 mins down to the Bettex cablecar in St Gervais I'd pay the extra €13-15 to get the Evasion pass and spend some time down there, opens up a lot more terrain, the Megeve area is very pretty with awesome views of Mt Blanc and the Aiguilles de Chamonix, but Contamines often has better snow, so that may be a consideration if it's looking iffy.

If you sta in Les Contamines there is normaly no reason to buy skipass for Megeve,, the snow is better in Les Contamines, and there is area for more than one week,,,
