Does anyone know anything about particulars regarding a world cup races at Crans Montana? Do you need to buy a ticket -lift or otherwise to view it or can you see it from hiking up? Thanks.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

roadrunner, ...women's world cup has been there a couple of times in past years (lindsay vonn looked cool..) and it's all visible from the piste and huge fun. No ticket for viewing on the upper sections, and yes you could hike up I guess, but a pedestrian pass would probably be better.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks so much. Much to my and more daughter's dismay, its the men while we're there, but we'll manage...anything we need to purchase in advance or morning of?

roadrunner, ...it is fair mayhem on the day at Montana lift station (which is where the Cry D'Er lift goes from, to get to the start area) but an alternative and much quieter is to get on at Barzettes, and then get off at the first station and cross to the chair up to Cry D'Er, but I think you'd need skis for that. It's all very well organised so no need to do much in advance

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

valais2, ...sorry...should have said....when I say that you might need skis, the chair is only 50m from the first station, and a completely flat walk from the bubble car off, but I think the pisteurs might insist on you having skis to go up. Otherwise just get up to Cry D'Er from Crans or Montana stations.
