Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi bootfitters, I'm after some quite specific info regarding making custom snowboard footbeds.

I worked 4 winters in a local ski shop and made a fair few sets of conformables having learnt on their course at HQ in France. Since then i've been rocking my 'running' set in my snowboard boots but after a couple of 100 days they're now in need of replacement.

My question is as they've 2 vac-form machines should i be trying to replicate my stance of 23" 15 -15 in the shop and moulding this? I'm guessing that as i sink into the bags my feet will spread, should i do some practise runs, measure the spread and compensate? Are there any specific tips on the position i should adopt?

I'll probably stick with the running version with extra heel support (henky-denk?!) unless you recommend otherwise?

Thanks in advance

Simon

interesting question

the problem i see with doing that is that your feet will naturally pronate, i would set them up normally and then compensate under the binding

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Don't make them standing up, neutral across the board, be light handed and finish them nicely!

I'm concerned about this, i already pronate a lot anyhow.

Unweighted? i thought that was podiatech stuff, i'm only familiar with the regular sidas routine.

TBH i've never had problems with my current 'motion's, i'll probably do them as normal, as described above.
