I have often used Snowheads to research trips but never taken the plunge and registered as a member.
Winter is coming and it is time to get prepared for shenanigans dans la neige...

thanks for the warm welcome everyone. nowhere booked as yet but keeping my eye out for some deals. went to val d'isere and LDA last season
anyone go to the ski & board show last week? hadn't been for a few years (since Olympia), was quite disappointed to be honest. used to be a lot more deals on boards & bindings...

Hi all - another first poster here!!
We went to the show last year, and as hubby was in London on business last week, he managed to squeeze in a quick visit - he didn't think much of it, to be honest.
I think if you're going to research somewhere to go, it's great, becasue you get the different resorts plying their trade, but like runtothehills says, not many equipment deals, especially when lots of stores are vying for your trade at the minute and offering sales/discounts.

haha i really should have thought of a better name. it was only because it was on my iTunes when i registered. never mind, i have been called worse!
jocrad, the one benefit of visiting the show is seeing a lot of different gear in one place, then being able to go home and find it much cheaper online! it's also good for meeting a few of the independent chalet operators. have always done DIY hols, staying with mates in resorts or renting s/c apartments, but fancy doing something a bit more sociable.

fatbob, i hope not, won't make many friends round here if i do. maybe selling whisky and taking gold? slightly fairer for both sides, although without reading up about the destruction and exploitation of the Native Americans culture and people i can't guarantee any factual correctness
