Wow, thanks everyone.
It has been a great week, very intense but also a lot of fun. Our group bonded really well, and everyone passed. We had Pete Gillespie as our trainer, thanks for all your guidance Pete.There's some paperwork to sort out, then on to shadowing.

Spud9, Congrats. Perhaps you could find time to write a report on the course activities, any tips and why you passed and others failed? It would be interesting to those who are also considering L1.

ALQ, I'm reluctant to write too much about the course, there's plenty of more knowledgeable Snowheads around who could give better advice. There seems however to be three key elements:- solid demos of the central theme, a reasonable teaching technique, and personal skiing performance which is good enough that your normal turns don't look like your demo of basic parallel turns. I can't comment on specific reasons for failure. All 8 in my group passed. I understand that two failed in the other group taking the course. I don't know why they failed.

scooby_simon, By lunchtime Friday, 7 of the 8 in our group had been given a pretty strong hint that we'd passed, so a couple of the younger lads were a bit demob happy. We'd been asked to prepare a short lesson based on one drill for the rest of the group,ideally something a bit unusual.So Fri lunchtime onwards 7 of us were teaching each other, and there was a bit of prating around. The eight member of our group ( a snowboarder who needed BASI 1 Alpine as part of his BASI 3 boarding stuff), plus a few of the other group were working hard with the trainers to get them up to the right standard.
