Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Avoriaz ski school

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello

I am going to Avoriaz on the 18th February and was hoping someone could recommend a good ski school.
I have done a full day course at the chill factore in Manchester and did a week in France last year (that didn't really count as I struggled all week and couldn't get any lessons). I in the process of improving my technique on plough turns and making my skis parallel. I am quite a nervous skier and need to build my confidence.

Thanks

katywhitehead,

I had lessons with Evolution 2 ( http://www.ecoledeglisse.com/) in Avoriaz last March and would highly recommend them. There were only 3 of us in a group lesson and the instructor was good at spotting our mistakes and improving our technique and instilling confidence.

enjoy your holiday in Avoriaz - we had a great time there.

Avoriaz Alpine Ski School will be worth a look - especially if you want group lessons with a native English speaking instructor.

We have a number of nervous skiers amongst our friends and can report the following instructors are being particularly good with nervous skiers:

- Becci and Ricey at BASS Morzine
- Sally at The Snow Institute
- Christophe at Easy2Ride

Those are all based in Morzine, but will do private lessons in Avoriaz.

If you drop the office an email, their details are on the website, they can let you know exactly what options they have.

Hi katywhitehead, We also stayed in the Falaise area and it was no problem to ski down through the town to the meeting area which is near the Villages des Enfants. Have a look at this map of Avoriaz: http://www.avoriaz.com/medias/pdf/Avoriaz-plan-hiver-EN.pdf
