Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sorry to disappoint those who might have been hoping for something else Toofy Grin

Just to say that ASDA are selling Hotties hand and toe warmers 2 (packet of 2) for £2 for those that use them.

Lou, our younger son got a huge box of them in Costco for me last year which I think were very cheap for those that can go to Costco - he gave them to me, anything to keep the old girl from moaning I suppose! In fact I haven't used many of them but just to know they are in my pocket can be very comforting sometimes.

I rarely, if ever, use them but youngest has been known to suffer so usually carry a packet.

Pamski, I don't think I used any last year - but in a cold winter, they're terrific!

Generally they seem cheaper out here - I got a big box in Decathlon for not much money and even in the local ski shops they're not too bad. The cost, in relation to the comfort they can provide, is negligible. I gave a pair once to a very sad little French girl who was weeping with pain from cold hands in one of our local restaurants. I'd had them in my gloves for an hour or so and they werealready nice and warm. She was very pleased! We have some of the ones you can re-set by boiling but they're much too chunky to go in a pair of gloves. I find the teabag ones much better.

pam w, I think they were most useful the very cold week from about 16th December last year up in Avoriaz - I had some of those ones that you re-boil once upon a time but as you say they are very chunky. I also remember not taking any to Montgenevre in January and the last couple of days in our week there it turned really very cold and so I had to buy some in the local ski shop there - but I would have paid a fiver for each hand I was so grateful for them.

Pamski, the acute problem is much better, thanks, but it'll be months before he gets the cataracts sorted. skiing a little blind this coming season, maybe?

But he has his Mojo (and his hotties....) and is really looking forward to the first snow. Even the gentlest bit of uphill hiking makes him mutter about how much better it is to use lifts!
