Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Rental - La Plagne Centre

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

I am looking for any advice from people who have hired skis / boots in la Plagne Centre. We are staying in a chalet 14th jan, mixed group with mixed needs. 4 begginers 4 intermediate, 2 Advanced, 8 would probably do with the basic rental package boots and skis etc, the 2 advanced just looking for some skis. Any tips off those who have hired here before much appreciated. Intersport sees to be the best deal so far?

Thanks

I looked at all the relevant websites for equipment hire at Plagne Centre and I found Oxygene Ski School to be best offer. Whether thats because I booked lessons for others in the group I don't know but I have intermediate skis for 50 Euros. If you get them cheaper than that then fair play to you as I've already paid but I thought it reasonable.

mushywill, Ski Republic operated in PC last season. Compare them to Intersport, location wise they are all in much the same area

Oxygene are good - I rented some fatter skis from them when I was fed up with my own narrow carvers and they were reasonable.

My (nervous) OH also had ski school with them and he came on in leaps and bounds, he did brilliantly.

Thats good to hear as my wife and kids (complete beginners) are taking lessons with them in Jan. I have to say they have stayed in good touch with me via email and on twitter and cannot fault their customer service to date. They are also situated very centrally and right next to the nursery slope. I gather Oxygene have overnight storage for boots and skis too.

Hi mushywill,

+ 1 for Oxygene. They do ski school and ski hire so it works out a lot cheaper as a package for anyone having lessons.

The other thing to look at is rental republic (www.rentalrepublic.co.uk). You book online in advance and they come to the chalet to fit the skis so no ski shop queues.

Have a great holiday . .

Best wishes,
Heather
