Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi, I am planning on skiing a season in Austria, and everytime i have ever spent a week in Austria, i have had xrays....

Anyone got experience in this? ie, did you ski a season and hurt yourself?

Also i was asthmatic, is insurance void if i skip over this detail?

PS, i only get hurt in Austria! Andorra, France Switzerland have always treated me well : )

median, Just make sure you declare everything with whoever you choose or you may find any claim refused. Having had asthma would be unlikely to have your cover refused, but again, when you fail to disclose a medical condition it gives them the right to get awkward later on. Peace of mind is what the right cover gives you and skipping detail won't exactly give you that.

median, (1) declare your pre-existing medical conditions (2) most definitely apply for the free European Health Insurance Card (3) don't ski near me.

Austrian hospitals/doctors are fantastic. Have registration forms in a million languages, treat you caringly, take a photocopy of your passport to claim it back and never bother you again. Might have changed slightly since the EHIC came out but I can't think of a better place to try and cripple myself.

I cover both my equipment and against injury with Harrison Beaumont Ski Insurance every year as I have also had some pretty bad run ins (literally) in the past. Its only a few pounds for annual cover and has saved me money on damaged gear in the past.

But yes it is definitely best to declare everything. If in doubt give the insurance company a call and ask.

median, try http://www.americanexpress.com/uk/personal/travel-insurance/annual-travel-insurance/prestige.shtml?PID=832&BUID=IISV&CRTV=TI0076c&AFFID=TI0076&PSKU=DFLT have good winter sports cover and trips up to 120 days.

Also your EHIC card will cover once in a hospital or doctors. I've used mine too many times and covers 100% cost.
