Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Solden transfers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Greetings from a new Snowhead.

Hope someone can assist.

I'm travelling independently to Solden through Innsbruck airport in January. I require a transfer to and from resort; taxis are very expensive and the Otztal shuttle times on the outbound trip are not convenient for the flight.

Has anyone used this shuttle or is there another way - rail/postbus perhaps? I'm afraid the various websites are not particularly helpful.

Thanks, in advance.

I'd expect it to be fairly easy-peasy.

Train to Ötztal station then bus up to Sölden.

btw. Welcome to snowHeads snowHead

Thanks for the links and the welcome. (How did I miss the bus timetable? Shocked )

Used the shuttle back from Obergurgl a couple of years ago -only 3 of us on it -more like a private transfer. Timetable didn't work for me on the way out either but one of the expensive taxi firms I contacted was picking up from the resort at about the right time to drop me off, so did me a deal.

Last year we hired a car which worked out cheaper and was very easy.

Thanks - will make contact with a taxi firm and see what they might be able to do, as well as having the train/postbus option as a back-up.

Haven't been to Austria for a year or two now - looking forward to Solden and having a day or two, perhaps, in Obergurgl.

LOTA, Welcome to Snowheads. snowHead

I've not been to Solden myself, but I know at least one snowhead visited it and posted a glowing report here Laughing

haha forgot about that thread Wink Smile

In addition to the above, I think you also need a shuttle bus from the airport to the station, but that's only about 5-10min ride. Then it's bus or train to the bottom of the valley, then local postbus to Sölden.

I drove and parked up in the hotel, or there's a decent sized multistorey (free during the day, pay to stay overnight, iirc, like many Austrian resorts).

Good grief - just read that 'report' - think I'll change my arrangements and go to somewhere like Murren, where that kind of talk is outlawed! Very Happy

To be honest, I've absolutely no idea what the correspondent is on about!
