Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Poster: A snowHead
Hi

Has anybody skied on the Kung Fujas that are 102mm at the waist?

I'm looking to get an all mountain ski to replace my liberty hazmats (94mm in the waist i think) and like the look of them

Whats everyones thoughts?

Cheers

102mm is far too wide under foot for skiing on piste.
they will be like water skis!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Have you skied a 102mm ski on piste?

Obviously on days when its pretty solid i'll use piste skis but on days when your on piste and playing about off piste you'd be surprised how easy it is to handle a pair of skis with a 102mm waist

I've skied my Hazmats in Scotland for the past 3 years on everything from boot deep powder to solid ice and never had any real problems with them

kitenski, ....yes this should be entertaining...yag posted re my request for info about armour and seems to have some 'interesting' views...I've got some 69mm waist skis (great for moguls and rigid corduroy mornings) but both friends and I ski on wide waisted skis when we're messing around, both on and off piste - some models require a couple of weeks' notice to shift from one edge to the other, but it's all about adapting style. Go to the top of La Grave and get to the road at the bottom and you won't have been in deep powder all the way. The OP said 'all mountain' and coping with variation in condition is about skill. If you spend all your life on piste then yes, a narrow waist is sensible. But the OP said 'all mountain'....
