Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes, they are. However, good does not mean expensive. My most expensive pair felt great when I tried before buying - when I was skiiing however they loosened all around my ankle and really ruined my skiing for that day - the best pair I have are really old trespass ones which are no longer available - I fear this season may be there last although I do hope that day never comes even if they do smell even after a wash! I find that the thightest, fitted socks you can try on without stopping your blood supply in the shop tend to fare well on the slopes.

Hmmm..... those look good but wouldn't suit a cheapskate like me .
Nah, I'm not really a cheapskate but getting everything sorted for my trips has really dented the bank account in a bad way and so have had to skimp on many aspects. I do like Falke though. Got their socks for my mountain biking.
Would the ones I linked above be as good, considering they have pretty much the same type of percentages of material?

Just wear those. Come on man, it's only socks we're talking about here.

I was told that socks are important for having a comfortable week without chafing and blisters. I'm only going on about what the SH's tell me

stick a Tena Lady down the front like a shin guard; you'll be fine.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

AlanB1976, good socks are snowHeads gold and very entertaining at times. Bad socks are usually miserable gits and only post rubbish

Samerberg Sue,
I am a holiday skier and discovered Lidls socks a long time ago. They look the part, appear to be properly shaped, with different weaves and have lasted a nice long time, though I don't tumble dry them. Well worth a punt IMO
