Internet special offer going in this year, 25% (210€) off if you order online between Oct 15 and Dec 15. This brings the cost of a season pass down to about 600€ - worth looking at if you're a regular visitor, given that the cost of a week is about 200€.

Hi, new to Snowheads, so here goes!
Can I ask where you found out about the deal? I'm planning on being in Deux Alpes (and mainly La Grave) for next season - presume this is the full season pass that gives you access to both areas?
On that note, if anyone's got any tips about the area, and more importantly, wants to get out and do as much freeriding as possible then let me know. Was planning on putting a separate post up.
Cheers

kanobi, the OP works at the lift pass office, but I am sure she'll be along to tell you herself. Welcome to SnowHeads.

kanobi, in-company newsletter. The pass does give you access to La Grave (and Alpe d'Huez, Serre Chevalier, Montgenevre, Via Lattea, Puy St Vincent) but you should be aware that this is only part of the deal for as long as the link between the two resorts is open, which is usually from the end of January.

Cheers guys, looks like I've hit on the right forum!! Can't get much better insider knowledge, much appreciated.
I'll be living in my campervan so plan is to split my time betwen La Grave and Deux Alpes, so should be ok if the link's not working... does that work?

You'll need to Register first of course.

kanobi, not sure that works, I seem to recall people from L2A having to buy a pass if they started skiing at La Grave. Pass only works when the link is open.

Hhhhmm, you might have exposed a hole in my plan!!
Just looked on the La Grave website and it says:
"With a valid ski pass 2-Alpes , you can use the La Grave cable-car for 13€ or 18€ more(depending of your skipass categorie - free for 6 days and more skipass) everydays of the week, but never the saturdays and sunday and the other public-day-off. The week-end and the public-holliday, you will need to pay a full ski-pass at La Grave.."
Clearly not written in perfect English but think it's saying that you can use the La Grave cable car for free if you've got a season pass...? Not pretending to be any authority of course as clearly you're much more in the know!
Not the end of the world if I can only access La Grave when the links open anyway, looks like there's enough back country stuff in L2A anyway and there's always the other areas. Plus I want to get some climbing in.
Really appreciate this.

kanobi, you can use your 2Alpes season pass for the cable car at La Grave only when the link is open and on normal weekdays, not on weekends or public holidays. This applies regardless of whether you get there via the link or by road.
You could also consider getting a La Grave season pass, which gives you access to 2Alpes but not the other Grande Galaxie resorts.

Sorry, just to clarify that then... If I got a L2A pass, I could use it in La G (via road access, not the link) but only on week days... is that right? Happy with that if so. Plus, I'd quite like to get the access to the Grand Galxie resorts - more to play with!
Cheers

kanobi, welcome to snowheads. IME you can get La Grave day passes free with a L2A season pass on weekdays excluding public holidays once the link has opened irrespective of whether the link is open on that day. Lizzard knows the correct official position but there appeared to be a little leeway on the La Grave side although this was a couple of seasons ago. It's far better to access LG by road as it means you can get first lift there (essential on a powder day), can ride their lift all day (travelling to/from L2A you'll get 3 runs down max) and you have the leeway on getting back from the descents that don't finish back at La Grave: Freaux, Voute, Chirouze etc.
There is normally a fairly cool campervan crew in the lower carpark at LG for much of the season (obviously mainly French but undoubtedly part Scandinavian), the long term residents are all very friendly and you won't struggle to find people to ride with. Haggis Trap on here has spent time there in a camper so could be a good source of info.
Shameless self-pimping of my season in L2A: http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=45488&highlight=deux
Oh and on-topic that is a stonking deal on the passes.

Swirly / All, thanks for this - I've learnt a lot this afternoon!
Enouraging that there's a good crew in La Grave - on the look out for people to ski with as I definitely don't want to be riding on my own!
Realised I've jumped the original post somewhat so apologies for that - I'll put another post up.
Reading your self-pimping now... not shameless at all!
