Hannah, Alan's an instructor so you could demand lessons from him as penance

As an former moderator, here's a word of understanding: it's dead easy to commit an error when hitting keys - especially in the evening! - sometimes resulting in stuff literally vanishing. It's an oddity in the phpBB software that this is possible (or maybe it's unavoidable? What do I know about computer software?)
Maybe some god is able to retrieve Hannah's thread - I'm sure Alan would buy that spirit a beer

Im intrigued as to the topic (im a skiboard, or blade if you must use that term, nut!).
Hannah, have you checked out the various dedicated skiboard forums? I actually have wondered about lessons myself, and everyone of the super duper boarders has told me that you are better to teach yourself within reason since most who might try and teach you wont actually know the differences between it and skiing, hence will teach you ski technique....
Have a look at www.skiboards.com or www.skiboardsonline.com. They are both retailers but have attached forums (which are admittedly a tad on the quiet side this time of year).

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
