Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Very clever chinguard on these.

If any of you have tried these, how do they fit? Most interested to hear from Boeri, Leedom, Red, or Jofa users who take large sizes (>60cm).

comprex, what are they? (yes, I know helmets) I'm curious and can't find them online.

David Murdoch, I think skibits.com show these under their protective gear page. The manufacturer is Mivida? No place for me to try them in the US and I really like the thought of that chinguard design.

As I've explained in some of the other helmet threads on this board, by the time the foam fits around my head, the outer shell is quite often larger than a basketball (I take XXXL in Boeri 'snowboard' helmets and only 'L' in Jofa). A quick-release chinguard would be quite a convenience in packing the checked luggage.

comprex, No idea how useful this will be but the following has a US address and phone number for Mivida.

comprex, I see what you mean. Pretty nifty. How often do you expect to need a chin guard though? I've ended up not using mine as it doesn't seem to enhance safety and does slightly reduce airflow when breathing very heavily!

mesk1, thanks, I had forgotten to check there.

David Murdoch, not for freeskiing, sure. That is (sort of) my point really, and there is something psychologically comforting to me about a chin guard for the club slaloms. Repressed memories of indifferent skiing and indifferent dental insurance plans, perhaps. Embarassed
