I fear it will never open again with Chill 20 minutes down the road offering reduced price deals and Pendle 20 minutes in the other direction for the club skier. I was up Pendle only yesterday walking the dog and had a look at the slope whilst there, it is in excellent condition and all carried out by club volunteer's. I cannot see anyone investing in the money pit that is Rossendale.

Yep, got to agree - not ski related, but came across a new community garden in aberdeen. Its beeing made from some old bowling and tennis facilities in old aberdeen. In the period between the council closing it and the community trust completting the negotiations to take it over the pavilion has been trashed by vandals to such and extent that the council is having to demolish it as it is unsafe - massive waste if money.

@sunnbuel - hmm... with the amount of volunteers we've had pledging support we'd need to buy a brewery to go with the slope!! (perhaps not)

sr_yetti, it was the NW news after that 10pm news programme, not NW tonight that's on early evening. I don't think the 10 o'clock regional news sections are on iplayer. We'll just have to await an announcement...
