Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski boots size ranges

Hi!

I've started hunting for the summer sales of boots and as in sales, variety isn't big Smile. Fortunately, the ones I've mail ordered are almost perfect, just few millimetres short. I would return them and order half size larger, but after I've taken a look I've found something worrisome. The sticker on the box says it's 26, while on the shell there is 26/26.5 embossed and on the liner 26-27.5. Does it mean that 26.5 will be virtually the same boots and 27 will have 1 cm larger shell but the same liner?

I have the same issue, damn sales.

Variety, price, fit

Pick two of the above, you generally can't have all three at this time of year

Shell size is 26.0 /26.5 the liner is a 26.0 /26.5 just the component you looked at (probably the plastic panel round the back of the liner) is used for a number of liner sizes

A 26/26.5 boot should have that size liner, a 27/27.5 shell will have a 27/27.5 liner

That explains a lot, thanks!

Just to clarify, so 26 and 26.5 is the same boot as well as 27 and 27.5?

Yep. A sound marketing ploy(con) half size boots.........

Kot, ...what make are they? Atomic sizes are a bit weird for example. I take a 26-26.5 shell in Salomon, but the same in Lange doesn't fit (too small) and I need a 25.5 shell in Atomic, since instead of going 26-26,5 they go 25.5-26. Perfectly normal, but you need to understand the idiosyncracies.

it is only the B tech boots and this was due to a bit of a "mistake" when the boot was designed many years ago, there are a couple of other oddities in size split amongst some touring boot models but not anything else from atomic
