Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Thinking of heading up there with family next week. Where's best to stay? Interlaken, Grindelwald, or one of the other villages? And any hotel recommendations, ideally with a pool?

Hmm just two nights in the area, I suspect most hotels in the smaller resorts will be shut certainly many in Wengen will be, would suggest Interlaken as best choice

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Depends what you intend doing there - are you looking to spend any/most time skiing, or just walking/biking or sightseeing? If you intend skiing, one option for a 2 night stay might be to stay in Lauterbrunnen (cheaper than Wengen or Murren but with fairly quick access to both of these ski areas). The only hotel in Lauterbrunnen I've stayed at was the Schutzen - good food but doesn't have a pool.

Alastair Pink, no skiing planned. Just a bit of gentle hiking and chilling out with the kids.

We stayed at the Hotel Gletschern in Grindelwald in March. Location is perfect for access to the bus right out in front. If you have a car it's not an issue. And you are only a few minutes from the trains up to Kleinescheidegg or Maennlichen on the gondola. The staff was very nice and helpful. The views from the balcony of our room were tremendous too. Decent breakfast as well.
