Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bus between Les Menuires and Val Thorens

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
HI,

Out in Val Thorens on 17th April for a week. Being a bit of a skin-flint, I am looking to make use of what I understand to be free parking in Les Menuires. I will only have the Val T lift pass unless the conditions improve, so wondered if there is any sort of bus service from about 5 / 6 o’clock in the evening back up to Val T? Either free or paid for?

Cheers

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

There's a bus at 17:30. Next one is at 18:45.
Cost is about 5€ I think.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

ringingmaster,
There should be a lot of street parking available in Les Menuires when you are there, in addition to the free open air car park next to the gondola at the foot of La Masse. We have parked at the La Masse gondola for the past 2 peak New Year holiday weeks without any problem so April will be deserted by comparison. Very Happy

The lifts at Les Menuires will be open when you are there so you could (do what we do and) drive to Val Thorens to drop your luggage on arrival, drive to Les Menuires to park, ski back to Val T from the car (via the lifts of course!) and then ski back to the car at the end of your hol wink

admin, Bergmeister,

Thanks for the info, really usefull, and will save £50. Happy Appologies for the tardy response (for some reason I did not get the notificaiton email).

Bergmeister,

I was not planning on getting a 3V full pass because of the conditions, but it is looking better, so might do that.

Cheers

P.S. for anyone else doing this, the tourist office gave me this link:

www.altibus.com, and said that the parking is all free apart from the underground parking, and the parking near the police station

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

ringingmaster,

You wouldn't need a 3 Valleys pass to ski to/from Les Menuires, as Les Menuires and Val Thorens are covered on the lift ticket that covers the Belleville Valley only. Separate passes are available for Val Thorens only or the 3 Valleys.

bergmeister last year they did not do a family pass version of the Belleville Valley pass. Will check if that is the same this year. Are the conditions worth getting that pass if available?
