Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Where's the snow gone?

Well it's all in Verbier of course snowHead

Late start on Saturday and greeted by this at Mt Gele...

Massive queue for the lift

Cleared up a bit at the top so we headed in the usual direction for the couloirs

Not much snow in the entry to S

Sun appeared and nice chalk down the chute

Millsy's away so we were planning to head to the Cabane de Prafleuri for some overnight action. Alas got to top of Mt Fort and couldn't see a thing so that was out. Thought we'd try Cabane de Tortin, cosy little place under Mt Fort.

Massive dump overnight (1cm....) so up early for some powder chasing

Ski buddy Chris hiding his excitement for the day ahead...

He still left me for dead on the bootpack up to Bec des Etagnes

Mt Fort North Face looked in the morning sun

At the ridge

Still some decent soft snow on the shady face. No falling allowed here

Bec des Rosses - tempting but a bit scary...

Chris goes over the cornice and in

Need to concentrate here

Had to sideslip the crux

Sparkling pow on the way down

Traversed round past Superbowl

Nice light

Yours truly enjoying the soft snow

Dropped down to Grand Desert and headed up towards Fenetre d'Alleves

The pow slopes under Grand Mt Calme

A guide brings his group down from the Col de Prafleuri

Over the fenetre and hunting pow stashes

Still some great snow under the shaded faces

Getting variable on the descent

Small air on Crusairs wink

Who said there's no snow?

Hmmm spoke too soon...

Combat skiing down to the road. Restaurant at Pralong closed until 2nd April Sad A few people got on the bus at Etygeon reporting some decent snow at the top but the path is struggling

Enjoyed the slush bashing on the way back but the snow is properly rotten on the south facing slopes. Avalanche debris onto the piste here

Had a lush pizza at chez Odette in Siviez. Odd location but great food!

There's still some great snow around but effort needed to get to it care required crossing anything south facing. The pistes are still good up high but suffering further down. Fresh snow required. Let's hope the forecasted stuff this week delivers.....

BobinCH, Lovely pictures, treasure it while you can, I'm off skiing with my 18 year old in a few weeks time. Time flies, but all worthwhile and like me, the little one will be flying past you on the slopes before you know it. wink

Zero-G, the Crusairs are really nice skis that do everything well at light weight so perfect for bootpack/skin served freeride.
