Hi,
Anyone know if any duty free you buy is included in the hand luggage allowance for Crystal? Just thinking of the way Ryanair and Easyjet works these days......

I have never known the 5kg allowance be applied to duty free. Didn't see any problem with hand baggage with Crystal in January. Intrigued that anybody bothers with duty free these days.

I've just returned from a Crystal trip today. They didn't seem too concerned but you could get unlucky.
The duty free was far cheaper on the plane than in Gatwick or Geneva airports. They ran out of Marlboro Lights though.

Cigarettes are a lot cheaper in the Duty Free shop in Geneva airport than at the tunnel or French Supermarkets.

Pamski, yabbut do you really want the pain of lugging around another 2Kg of bulky luggage to maybe save a little dosh? Interesting that bottled stuff is allowed on aircraft. Granny has her knitting needles confiscated. Mr Thug is handed an object which he may take onto to the aircraft before breaking to make a really offensive weapon.

achilles, we were just buying for our son who had requested it. We had only been back for the day so had no luggage to speak of. Agree, we don't usually bother if we have other luggage as it is so heavy.
