Any album by one artist gets boring and is full of tracks that you would rather skip.
Get a Hed Kandi album, enjoy the beat and motor on down.
Really, it's a daft question because music is far too personal. Get yourself down to HMV and buy something you like the look of.

That's the problem with today's ipod generation. Artists generally put thought and craft on to an album particularly in how the tracks flow and tell a story of a complete album (and I'm not talking hippy concept stuff either).

What kindof music are you after. I'm listening to a new band - really really good, called Magenta Skycode. Ok, the name is pants but they are good. But it's apres ski maybe - mellow - way more that R H C P. Does anyone really still listen to them?

Indeed!!! ESP Sigur Rós.
Also:
Fugazi - Red Medicine
Mogwai - Hardcore Wil Never Die, But You Will
Navel - Neo Noir
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Howl
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
Low - any album really, but Great Destroyer, and Curtain Hits the Cast, are both good.
Could go on and on...but that prolly cuz I'm a recording engineer and have a stupidly huge library on my iPhone and iPods (not to mention a home....) so sometimes choice kills me.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I love it that I have not heard of quiet a few of the artists mentioned on this thread. Spotify will be busy later for sure and I hope to discover something I will love. My most played album at the moment is:

Wonderful, but to ski to?!

Or, in my case, most.
I don't like listening to music through headphones but, if I had to choose optimum music to ski to, I think I'd choose Bach - for example Brandenburg 5, or the Italian Concerto, or the Badinage for flute etc, all fabulously rhythmical, to make me keep turning. Only rhythmical music would do - which is why Strauss songs wouldn't cut the mustard, much as I love them. But I find that swearing at myself on each turn is the best bet, music not required.

Hurtle, If I am listening to music whilst concentrating on another activity I invariably chose something that is not rhythmical as I find that too distracting. The pieces you mention are of course fabulous, however I would have to be sitting comfortably in order to listen to them.
To be honest I don't normally ski with headphones in either, I just like talking about music.

palumbex, I find that, increasingly, I prefer to listen to music with 100% concentration. The only 'background' music I can tolerate is bleeding chunks of the Classic FM sort and, even then, if something I particularly like comes on, it distracts me from what I'm doing. Contrast this with posting on snowHeads, which I can swing in and out of at any time, while doing several other things!

Go watch some ski films (or even just trailers). Doesn't matter what music it is, as long as it fits the mood for that section. Then go get hold of that music and listen to that. You'll associate it with "getting rad" and thus you will also "get rad".
