Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Advice on Innsbruck to Hintertux Transfer Basi Course July

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

As mentioned in a earlier thread my son is Doing his Basi Level 2 at the end of July 2011 at Hintertux.

We have sorted out some accommodation in Hintertux and we are about to book an Easyjet Flight from Gatwick and we are now looking for some information on Getting from Innsbruck to Hintertux. I think the flight we looked at lands about 10.30 - 11.00am in Innsbruck on Saturday 23/07/2011 and we would like to hear from anybody else travelling to hintertux on the same flight as we could maybe book a transfer and share the cost.

We have also heard about the Postbus up through mayorhofen and any details on where to catch this and running times etc would also be helpful. Also would they be Ok with carrying skis as my son is taking his own?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

paulmo101, it'll be bus into Innsbruck train station, train to Jenbach, change train - Jenbach to Mayrhofen and the grab the Post Bus which runs from Mayrhofen train station up to Tux. Couple of hours but nice journey.

What he said. Google OBB for details. And yeah, they're fine with skis on Austrian public transport.

Hi

Thanks for speedy replies - anybody used a private transfer?

Looking on the net prices seem to be around 290 Euro return which seems a bit steep.

Cheers

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Also meant to say, if he's under 25 he should get the VorteilsKarte (travel card) from the train station when he gets his ticket - 20 euros for the card, 50% discount on trains for a year.

on a Saturday in July there is normally a Thomson flight landing with transfers to Mayrhofen, don't think you book in adavance but on arrival you should be able to pay locally for a transfer normally €25.

Hi Paul,

I am booked on to the same course starting on the 25th July and have just started looking into travel and accommodation. I just wondered what accommodation you have found and whether you have booked any of the travel arrangements from Innsbruck? I am looking into getting a flight to Munich and then a train to Hintertux but I am not sure yet.
Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Alison

paulmo101, if looking at the private transfer, I've used these guys a few times (St Anton and Kappl) http://www.innsbruck-taxi.com/en/price.php?zeichen=m and they're pretty reasonable and efficient
