Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing Near Landeck - advice required please

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We are finishing a ski tour in Landeck, Austria on Friday 22nd April, spending the night there and then be staying in the area for a couple of days afterwards, before flying home from Munich late on the evening of Monday 25th April.

We are planning to ski on the Saturday and Sunday (and possibly until mid afternoon on Monday) but won't have a car. Can any snowHead advise if there are decent links to local ski areas by public transport? For example, is Ischgl, St Anton or Serfaus accessible, or anywhere else within striking distance? We only have accommodation reserved up to the Friday night so would be happy to travel elsewhere and knock on doors for a bed.

We are then considering a commute after skiing on Sunday so we can ski at the Stubai Glacier on Monday, before commuting to Innsbruck to catch the train to Munich - but are not sure if that would really be possible in the time available. We need to be at Munich airport in time for a 21.25 flight.

Any thoughts/suggestions welcome.

Our ski tour will be in the Silvretta and will be our first tour in Austria. So far we've toured in Chamonix and Norway and have completed the Haute Route.

Can't wait! The planned ascent of Piz Buin loooks interesting! Very Happy

You can get the train direct from Landeck to St Anton (about 20 mins and E6).

There is a bus between Landeck and Ischgl, it's not free I don't think, but not very expensive. Takes about 50 minutes as it winds up the valley.

Train and bus to Anton direct from Landeck (Zams). Be around 5-6 euro return on the bus IIRC.

Check OBB for times/details, but all are reachable on public transport. As well as what others said above, there is a bus to Fiss/Serfaus.
