Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Are there any other package ski holiday companies?

I am looking for a ski holiday for one as my attempts to latch onto a group have not been successful for a variety of reasons but mainll because I would like my own room Can anyone tell me are there other tour operators other than the ones below sell their own ski holidays rather than sell others (igluski etc). I am basically lazy and a bit of a coward and want to get on a flight, get on a transfer and arrive at my hotel or chalet so I am after a company that does all that. Some people have suggested UCPA but they only do half of it for you you still have to get your own flights and transfers etc which massively puts up the price particularly the transfer. I am after travelling any time from now to April and can go at a moments notice so apart from the following are there any others

Neilson (Thomas Cook)

Crystal ( First Choice and Thompson)

Inghams

Not bothered where I go (with the exception of Bulgaria) as long as there is snow and the sooner the better. I am male and 50 not that that is particularly relevant.

Cheers

There are lots.
First suggestion, as we are using them for the off-piste bash, is Ski Miguel

Esprit (specialise in family trips) and Ski Total were separate tour ops but are now part of the same company as Inghams although still run as separate operations.

Ski Olympic, Silver Ski, Erna Low (self drive packages)....I've used Erna Low and was very happy with the service - not used the others but they have excellent reputations.

Rocketski, Ski Beat, Ski Power will all be good for a single person late deal.

if you buy a UCPA holiday through Action Outdoors they do the travel too - very cheap. I don't think you can beat their prices unless you get a very last minute deal. Even then, by the time you've factored in ski pass, hire, tuition and lunches, you're unlikely to get it cheaper.

Although already mentioned by admin, Ski Total had some single rooms at their Chalethotel Sonneck in Lech. They may well do at other places.

Mark Warner and Le Ski are at the pricier end of the spectrum but they do late deals which are more affordable. They also will sell room shares, as do Ski Olympic, and they all offer ski hosting so you have someone to ski with, if you want it. I know you didn't want agents, but Alpine answers have a good site to tell you whats available, mainly offering chalet holidays, including some of the aforementioned companies.

There are litterally thousands of companies offering ski package holidays. Googling "ski package holiday" results in about 61 million hits, so even if you assume 1,000 pages per operator, that is around 6000 different companies.

I wouldn't have thought there were that many. Not in the UK, anyway.

Skiworld are another tour op at the cheaper end of the market you could try they usually do pretty reasonable late deals - i've been with them previously on my own ableit a few years ago so i don't know what their like now.

If you want a list of TOs good place to look is the bottom left on the resort pages in Where to Ski and Snowboard - www.WTSS.co.uk. Gives you lots of choices for each resort. We've booked with SkiWorld this year and so far they've been very good (even giving us an impromptu discount!)

There are literally hundreds, as above Where to Ski & Snowboard provides a fairly detailed list.

However, if you want to fly from somewhere other than Gatwick or Manchester it reduces your choice considerably. I tend to find the 'big 4' offer far more choice when it comes to single hotel rooms too (as well as lots of regional departure airports).

chrish, I can recommend both Mark Warner (MW) and Ski Miquel (SM). MW have single rooms and some small doubles with no single supplement. SM charge about £150 as a single supplement in their chalethotels, but their standard prices are quite a bit less than MW. Both include the flights and transfers.

Both companies generally offer five days ski hosting, which is particularly handy if you're on you own or with a partner at a different level. SM normally has a faster group and a slower group, while MW generally has a fast group, an intermediate group and a leisurely intermediate group. With both, the groups all meet up at lunch and you can swap groups and opt in and out as you like.

I've had great holidays with both - though I've not holidayed on my own with Ski Miquel.

Go through the portals igluski, alpineanswers etc. and you'll find others too. Or advertise on chaletsdirect

I'd just sign up for the Iglu last minute e-mail and you'll get packages come through fairly cheap. There's loads of availability out there for a single traveller - if it is last minute there's every chance they'll waive a single supplement on a double or twin room to get at least one space filled in a quiet chalet.

Personally we had a great trip to Courchevel in January with Ski Olympic. I'd definitely look there first if I was booking again this season (which I might be)

EOSB does sound like it might fit the bill for you as well though - it is so cheap it is more expensive to stay at home, and single travellers will be very welcome and have a ready made group to ski with etc.

Very happy with Silver Ski this year, looking for Feb 2013 at the moment, could go with them again but want some more options. Anyone used Ski Miquel and know if they are good and what the prices are like?
Cheers Happy
