Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Gotama and Mission Binding Choice

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am in process of getting a pair of Volkl Gotamas 186cm and Scott Missions 183cm.

I want a touring rig on one pair - Marker Barron and a set of Marker Griffon 12s on the other.
I have not toured yet, but want to start on short day trips over the next few years.

Question is which ski and binding combination works best ?

I was planning on the Barron on the Mission and the Griffon on the Gotama ........ but any advice would be appreciated.

PBJ, Got Marker Dukes on my Mantras, suggest consideration if your planning a semi-touring rig, great set-up and highly recommended.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks - Do you think a wide ski such as the Gotama will tour as well as the narrower Mission.
I had planned the Mission as more of the tourer, with the Gotama for lift served powder days etc

I'd buy one pair of bindings (the Baron) and put inserts in both pairs of skis. You would need two pairs of skins but you would avoid buying the alpine binding and it would be easier to fly with both pairs.

What gorilla said.

But also, why two such similar skis? You've got the missions as good allmountain 'do everything' skis, why not push the boat out a bit and get some bigger skis for the pow?
