When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all,

I posted a topic re touring skis a few weeks ago and it was very useful...thanks to all who responded.

I've just found a shop in the Dolomites which seems reasonably priced. €280 for some Dynafit Scarpone Zzero4 TF boots. Is this a decent boot for touring? It seems much cheaper than other places I have seen.

Also they have some Dynafit Stoke skis. I'm tempted by them but concerned at how they would perform on the packed snow. Does anyone have experience with these skis?

Stoke has good reviews on TGR, and they're not alll that fat. Even on firmer snow offpiste a bit of width usually makes things easier, especially if it's chopped up/crud/crusty.
