Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Maria Alm?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all
A few of us are returning to Zell am See shortly. We are all the same level of skiing....skiing one week a year for the last 7/8 years! Last year we spent a few days skiing Saalbach and Kaprun as well. This year we are thinking about heading to Maria Alm (as well as Saalbach) for a days skiing. Can anybody advise whether its worth heading that way? Appreciate any advice

Maria Alm looks plenty big enough for a day but fairly low - probably depends on how the snow is at the time.

From Zell I would head to Gastein or St Johann in Pongau for a days skiing rather than Maria alm

Snacs, well worth a trip out to Maria Alm. New lifts this season have linked Maria Alm to Dienten in both directions now so you can take in plenty of the Hochkonig area without the need to catch the ski bus at Hintermoos. Most of the area is north facing so snow conditions are usually pretty good, don't worry about the low altitude. Some nice mountain restaurants in all sectors of the area. I think the skiing on offer in Hochkonig is miles better than Zell am See. Heading out to Dienten in 3 weeks, bring in on...

There's 5/6 of us so we usually get a taxi....depends if we bother checking the bustime table. Also like to be relatively close to Zell as we have been known to get a bit distracted by the Aprés Ski!!! so our friendly taxi looks after us at all hours. Seems that Maria Alm is about the same distance as Saalbach...so we were just thinking about it for a change

I would second 3offthetee. Maria Alm and the Hochkönig area would be great.
