Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi

I'm a complete beginner - friends either have young children or can't afford hol so looking to join a group. I'm looking at 5/6th March, preferably somewhere suitable for beginners.

Thanks

luckylegs, welcome to Snowheads. snowHead One possibility would be the holidays arranged through Action Outdoors at UCPA centres in France - they include everything, including lessons, pass and hire of equipment and as it's a youth hostel kind of centre you are guaranteed lots of people to ski and socialise with. You are unlikely to find anything else such good value - full board, all you need is a few beers. Not all centres will have beginners groups every week (and if you could wait till the following week you'd find the pistes less busy, as the French holidays finish on 12 March). There's a discount code somewhere on Snowheads if you're interested in that (someone will be along with it, I expect).

Good luck!

Hi Pam W

Thanks for that - unfortunatley I can only do week of the 5th and they are not running any groups then. That's a shame.

luckylegs, yes, I think there are some - here's one possibility but I expect there are others too http://www.action-outdoors.co.uk/hol_lesdeuxalpes_UCPASkiorSnowHalf-TimeInstruction_5-3-2011_0.aspx

luckylegs, Most of the centres run 5 full/half days tuition on the 5th march. see:

http://www.action-outdoors.co.uk/datesandprices.aspx

Tignes is running a special beginners course on the 5th but all the other centres will split up into relevant levels for full time tuition.

Email Action-outdoors. They're really helpfull.

Thanks for the information! How did I not see that! Am looking for some cheap flights now as the coach journey seems a bit severe!

I will have a look round for a discount code too -

Thanks again

Hi Claire

I'm having to cancel a ski holiday for next week so need to sell my ticket. I was going with a group of friends. We have booked 2 flats and there are 3 girls and 3 guys going. Ranging from late 20s to early 40s. All are relaxed, friendly and happy to share with new people of any age. There's one girl who is a beginner skier going.

If you're still looking for a group to go with I would be very happy to sell you my ticket!
The details are:
To: Val D'Isere
Price: £340 per person (2 tickets are available due to not having full occupancy)
Dates: Sat 5th March - Sat 12th March
Flying From: Edinburgh
Operator: Crystal ski (I have checked and the details can be changed to a different person)
Details: Self Catering and sharing a four person flat.

If you are interested please let me know.
Thanks.
Helen

luckylegs, although I hope that HappyInSnow manages to sell her holiday, I have to say that Val D'Isere is not the most beginner-friendly resort (though there is some excellent instruction available there).

Hope you get something fixed up.
