Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Training with the best

What a day today turned out to be!

We always planned to head up to The Reiteralm as the rumour was that the Swedish WC men would be up there training, and it's always great to watch some of the best skiers in the World train.

It was a pretty early start in the morning to get over to Reiteralm, with the Swedish guys due to start SuperG at 7.30am, but we figured it was well worth it, not just to catch the skiers training, but also the for the early morning views!

When we arrived however, it turned out that it wasn't just the Swedish WC men that were there - it seemed that everyone on the World Cup had agreed to come together in one place for a cross training session, with athletes from the Austrian, German, Swiss, Italian, Norwegian and American Teams joining in with the Swedish.

There was an awesome SuperG running from near the top of the Gondola down to the bottom, plus a couple of GS courses and a couple of slaloms. The snow was absolutely bullet proof and grippy too, and the athletes were all sharing courses, so we were lucky enough to spend the morning watching and comparing the lines of some of the best in the business!

Svindal and Hans Olsson were on SG, Raich and Hirscher on GS and Hargin and Myhre on Slalom...

Raich and Schoeghoffer looked a level above Baumann, Svindal, Jansrudd, Neureuther and the other racers, but the skier who really stood out was Hirscher. It's no secret as to how talented the guy obviously is, but today, up close and personal and tearing up run after run, testing skis (and some new see through red boots for a couple of runs!?) he looked absolutely phenomenal! His angles, pressure and direction were staggering, especially through the steep icy sections that the others struggled on. The video we got from today is going to give the boys plenty to look back at over the coming weeks and enough material to analyse for the rest of the season.

We also got to check out everyones favourite freestyler - turned racer - turned amazing GS Superstar, Jon Olsson, who was cruising around with his brother Hans Olsson and Norway's Leif Kristian Haugen. When he stands around chatting and looking cool, you kind of get tricked into forgetting just how amazing he is as an athlete, but when he started to lay his skis over in his warm ups - Wow!
