Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Madesimo Trip report...

Hi All,

just got back from a great trip to Madesimo.

Flew into Bergamo on Ryanair, no delays, in fact arrived early and was met by driver of minibus for the group (11 of us).
Very plush and roomy minibus took us upto madesimo in approx 2hrs 30mins.
we were in the hotel by 12.30 lunchtime.

Stayed in hotel emet in the centre of madesimo. Due to us arriving on a wednesday we literally had the hotel to ourselves which was nice and the staff could not of been better, couldn't do enough for us and the food was amazing. Four courses every night of good, fresh cooked italian food. Rooms vary in size but even the smallest doubel (me and my husband had) was still bigger then most rooms we have had elsewhere and the rooms were immaculate and most of the bathroomms looked brand new, the maid even came to 'turn down' the beds for you while you were at dinner! The lounge bar area was really nice for an apre-ski or pre-dinner drink and the bar staff even give you free bar snacks in the evening ranging from crips/olives to mini cheese and ham toasties!

two of our group had private ski school instruction with very good english speaking instructor who had them snowplough turning in under two hours on the deserted nursery slope!

Snow conditions very good, even though they havn't had snow in a few weeks, lower pistes had excellent covering also with no ice and grooming was excellent. Upper pistes not problems at all, plently of snow everywhere. We had some very very sunny days with temperatures reaching 7 or 8 degrees and and even in the 'high traffic' areas on saturday and sunday when things were getting busier the snow still held up very well at resort level. Towards the end of the day the snow at resort level was getting bit soft which was understandable due to high temperatures but even still was definatley skiable.

Overall conditions were fantastic, all runs and lifts open, friendly and helpfull locals and of course the best pizza's ever!
