Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

fil, Just back last week with Thomson, which I think is all part of same group. In the past I have paid the extra £30 or so for ski carriage and this has in the past allowed you up to 32kg. However the rules are as clear as mud and although we had reduced our weight to 23 kg (per the Thomson website) for the ski bag, we were still charged an extra £40 as we apparently only allowed 12kg for skis. Chatting to folk on the way back with similar ski bags to ours (ie the huge ones), most seemed to get away with the 32kg allowance in once bag. Puzzled Puzzled Puzzled
Pretty sure you still get your 20kg in addition to your skis though

fil, my understanding is that you get 20kg hold baggage allowance which could include a separate boot bag and then if you pay for £30 return ski carriage, you can take a separate 'oversize' bag containing one pair of skis and sticks or one snowboard. I've never had this bad weighed but it has been checked to make sure there was only one pair of skis inside.

queen bodecia, just come back (today!) from a group holiday with Crystal (same TUI company). Some of us flew from Birmingham - ski bags not weighed, some from Robin Hood (Doncaster) - ski bags weighed. So it's a complete lottery rolling eyes .

mmrm2, sorry no, I didn't. I had a double ski bag with 2 pair of skis in it. And I paid double. Only been caught once and was very embarrassed Embarassed by it. Like cheating at school! I held up the queue and had to go and pay for the extra pair at the airline desk whilst all my friends waited. Since then when I've taken 2 pairs I've paid for 2 pairs. And of course they never check now ....... rolling eyes
