Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Quick BASI question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I was thinking of doing the BASI Level 1 course and have looked on the BASI website. It is not 100% clear. Am I correct in thinking that when it says 5 day course it is a course that is run in the daytime rather than the evening?

I was looking at the Manchester Chillfactor courses.

Any info welcome.

Thanks

There were also evening classroom sessions on mine - I'd check with the course organiser.

I think you will find it is not a true BASI 1 anyway but a Indoor BASI 1 which only allows you to teach indoors. There is something about doing 35hrs "snow based work experience" but that includes working on the booking desk (I think) Puzzled

Loads of info on the BASI website but ringing them is the real answer.

Jake43, no difference in the qualification you end up with whether you do the course in a dome or on a mountain. BASI's intent is that it's a licence for closed environments (dry slope/dome) but many ski schools in the Alps and elsewhere are happy to accept it for mountain teaching - presumably liability will be carried by these ski schools themselves.
