Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all
The clear top sheet on the tip of one of my Scott Missions has lifted on most of the tip, back by about 5" . What I would like to know is the best way to repair this , would I be right in thinking a contact adhesive or something else.......

mistermouse, Patch is not quite right - I think it was a common problem for a specific year Jules B, snowball and myself have had no problems - but others including RachelQ had I think with 2008 skis. Rachel got hers replaced through her retailer thanks to Scott. Time has moved on, but skis really should not delaminate. I think it might be worth contacting your retailer and seeing what can be done by Scott.

mistermouse, What age of Missions are they? I had the same problem with the white & brown 'Jesus' graphic ones and Scott replaced them, I don't think anything will stick the topsheet down for any length of time once its lifted by that amount, the material is just too thick.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Nick D, hah! I have those, too, so my theory is incorrect.

Yep mine are the Jesus ones, about 2007/8 maybe. Anyone got a contact number for someone at Scott.
Worth a try.

Cheers

mistermouse, there's a whole thread about it here which might help. Sorry but I don't have the contact details anymore for the Scott guy who helped me - the shop I'd bought them from put him in touch with me. Good luck.

Hi
As an update, I took my skis into Snow & Rock chertsey who took them in to speak to Scott.
Here I am 2 weeks later waiting for the bindings to be fitted to my lovely new pair of Scott Missions which Scott have given as replacements.

Thanks to all on here for pointing me in the right direction when I thought it was tube of glue time. Good for Scott and Snow & Rock for sorting very swiftly and happily. Very Happy

mistermouse, a great result esp given the age of the skis. achilles, you may remember that the skis JulesB got were a 'demo' (not a rental) version and have an extra thick mesh layer on top, perhaps a good thing in the circumstances.
