Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Parking in Chamonix Sud

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi - hoping someone will be able to help Puzzled

Myself and 3 others are driving down to Chamonix in 2 weeks time (hoping for a decent dump before then!) and we're staying at an apartment in Chamonix Sud which doesn't have parking.

Can anyone offer any advice on the parking situation in Chamonix Sud. Is street parking free, are there any large open air car parks nearby or ideally some covered ones that we can leave the car at for the 3 days we are there?

The Aguille de Midi carpark will be one of the first carparks you come across as you drive into Chamonix and is gonna be one of your best bets if you can't find a spot on the road around Chamonix Sud. You prob could upgrade to the huge underground car park if your staying in the large appartment complex in Chamonix Sud, but a good friend of mine had around £500 of stero equipment screwed out of his pimped up Escort van during a season...however he did cruise the streets advertising his wattage, so as long as you don't do that and have better security than an early 90's Escort van you should be fine!

Plenty of parking on the river road over this last weekend when I wanted some (opposite end of the Sud complex from the Aguille). Might be getting busy in a couple of weeks as the hols start so it looks like SZK's offer looks the best (go on you know you need a new pair of comfy boots).
