Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Morillon & the Grand Massif

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Off to Morillon Village with a party. Looking for some top tips - none of us has ever been to Grand Massif before. We've some complete beginners who are signed in for lessons every morning, starting at probably Morillon 1100 -but possibly Samoens 1600 if the snow will be considerably better there.

So, what are your favourite runs (better, what are your favourite runs that nobody else skis); what are the best places to go, where is there to eat that is good & cheap; what's fun in Morillon village. We shall obviously be quite biased towards Morillon at the start of the week, but shall with luck have a little more freedom later.

And most importantly, is there anything near Morillon that is blue that should be a red - or indeed is there a confidence-inspiring red run that should really be blue.

All very excited, not long to go!

Morillon is a great venue for beginers with both the green Marvel run and the blue Sairon great to learn on both easy fun and no surprises. Morillon 1100 is the centre a short Gondola ride up from Morillon Village.
There are a lot of people on here who visit the Grand Massif and yopu should get plenty of replies- but is sounds like you wont need anythiong other than the Massif pass which covers 145km of local skiing and should keep you interested.
Sairon has good Canon cover and is usually well managed so dont worry too much about the snow - though as yoiu are probably aware the whole of the Alps needs a mega dump.

I'd be very surprised if you dont have a good time - im back in Morillon 1100 in March and have been for the last 4 years.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I agree with marksovereign. Better in Morrillon for learners although Sam 1600 pretty good. For confidnece inspring stuff head to Les Carroz, either down to the gondala the Les Molliets chair or the more challenging area around the Gron chair. 10 days ago there was a lot of ice amd I do mean a lot so fingers crossed for more snow.

Fun is limited in Morrillon Village but if you have a car then head to Samoens. Bar Le Savoie, Le Cerac and Louisianne are all fair value and lively but done expect cheap anywhere. Some debate on here at times about Louisianne but is laways good when I go.

Enjoy
