Poster: A snowHead

I am looking to buy a car in France and would like to store it close to the airport at Geneva so I can fly in and drive to Les Gets.
Does anyone know of a cheap very long term parking area near GVA?
Thanks
Max

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Boredsurfing, Thanks, I am looking for something a little more secure than a train station if possible, a tall order I know, but if you don't ask.....

Chattonmill, there is a Snowhead called Jivebaby who has some form of car parking arrangement quite near the airport, he may be along to help out.
I shall be interested to see any replies - we have been in Les Gets for ten years and never really got our heads round keeping a car in France, we always seem to have so much stuff going back and forth, couple of weeks ago a new kitchen sink, and having just bought a new tumble drier we shall take the old one home to use as an extra as it only needs a screwdriver to open the door!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks Pam, will have to message him if he is not.
Looking forward to Chalet ownership very shortly (27th Jan) and to enjoying all that Les Gets has to offer.

Chattonmill, ah, perhaps we will be neighbours - we are in the Char Rond area near the school and the lake. Friends staying there this week and we are experiencing staying in a French apartment in Montgenevre but will be back at the weekend for another couple of weeks - certainly enjoying the skiing, the pool etc, but not used to having nowhere comfortable to sit!!

That is a lovely area Pam, I looked at one chalet just below the school, but the rooms were just too small for my 6ft 4 frame!
I have just bought on the Route des Chavannes, compromised on the location a bit as we loved the area round the school, but for us the perfect Chalet.
It is just beyond the turn to the Routes de Gibannaz.
Hugely looking forward to French ownership and many happy years to come

often a problem in apartments with "click clack" sofas, I find. We had a futon fold out sofa bed in ours but it wasn't remotely comfortable as a sofa (OK if one person could lounge alone). We've dumped it, and now use good quality self inflating camping mats if the two bedrooms aren't enough. We have three quite good comfortable Ikea chairs and two footstools, so when we're alone we each have a very comfortable perch.
Traditionally, I don't think French homes have been as "sofa" oriented as lots of British ones - plenty of sitting round the table goes on. So French guests probably don't miss comfy chairs as much as we would.
We flew home with impressive ease from Chambery yesterday, with just hand baggage. Easy train connection from S'ton airport. Got me wondering again about leaving a French registered car in Chambery.....

pam w, we saw planes coming or going over Chambery as we drove past yesterday - perhaps yours. Sounds like an ideal journey for you.
