I was just going to add a post to an existing thread - but couldn't find one! So it's about time Inspired to Ski had its own thread
Just back from another really enjoyable and instructive week with Inspired to Ski in Courchevel. My third week with them and really can't praise both the instruction and the whole set-up enough. In Courchevel they are based in the Mark Warner Chalethotel Dahu, a short walk from the central Croisette. The Dahu has quite a lot of single rooms, with no supplement to pay. Excellent!
There were only 4 groups our week, with 2 instructors Tim Jackson and Bryan Hogg. A lot more for the week coming apparently. We were really lucky with the weather and were welcomed with fresh overnight snow on the first morning and a big dump the next day Our group had Tim and he was very good with us the first few days, pushing us and giving excellent feedback, including video every evening back at the Dahu. I really noticed the difference in my videos from when I went with them last year - due no doubt to the coaching throughout the year from Rob and Scott at InsideOut - I'll add to that thread...
Unfortunately, and for those who know Tim, he took an awkward fall near the end of the second day, in some soft snow off the piste God knows how he managed to ski back but was obviously in a lot of pain. He is OK but hobbling round on crutches and of course was unable to instruct the rest of the week. No doubt he will be back instructing much too soon!
At the ninth hour replacements were found for him, and we were lucky to have Craig Conkie of BASS in Meribel for the next 2 days and then Martin Hemsley of ESF Meribel for the final day, both of whom were going to be instructing for ItS the following week. Although there wasn't really the progression and build-up throughout the week that you would expect with one instructor, nevertheless I think it's also beneficial to have different instructors with different styles, perhaps coming at things from a different angle. And they'd obviously been briefed about each of us . We had a week of tackling steeper runs, short radius turns, soft snow off-piste and hard fast pistes. A great week
Best wishes to Tim and I'm sorry we pushed you a bit too hard I hope a full & speedy recovery is made.

pam w, thanks. Yes, these weeks really are good and build on what I've been doing with Rob & Scott throughout the year. Amazing how they all pick on the same things It's also very good how, although different instructors with different teaching styles, they're all 'singing from the same BASI song book'. Shame you wouldn't be able to do a similar week, but quite understand why not!

I also meant to say that when we were down in Mottaret, the 'officials', together with the gendarmerie, were checking ski instructors credentials. First time I've seen that. We were with Craig Conkie, from BASS Meribel, at the time and he had to spend quite a bit of time with them, not just a matter of flashing your card and off.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
