Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Jobs in the British ski industry?

 Poster: A snowHead

I'm currently looking for a new job and I was kind of wondering what options there are in the ski industry. There's the obvious ones such as working in ski retail or for TOs and maybe instructing but are there any less obvious ones? I'm assuming it's a pretty difficult industry to make a living out of other than sort of managerial positions of the two I've already stated so I don't think it's realistically the best choice but I was just curious as to whether there were any others. I did have a call a while back from someone wondering if i'd be interested in doing accounts stuff for a ski shop but accounts isn't really my thing.

Some roles off the top of my head around scottish hills, dryslope and indoor slopes; management/supervisor, ski tech/rental, maintanence, lifty. For the maintanence role they would look for an electrical and mechanical background. From speaking to a few people and looking myself its really about getting yourself know and working in which ever role you can for building experience.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You could try setting up some sort of ski based website with a discussion forum...

Full disclosure - I work for Crystal - no harm in a quick plug as it is relevant to the thread I spose!

We're recruiting at the moment for web people. If you've got the experience in this area please see the list of roles on the below:

Good luck with your job hunt!
