Many places now have digital cameras that will take a quick snap and print it on your pass as part of the purchasing process, or scanners that will grab an image from your passport. I think the days of having to take physical photos are pretty much over now.

Depends who you get at the base, some of them are mental!
I had guests get hassled the other week because the lift pass office had mixed up the photos of their 2 identical-looking small, blonde offspring! I couldn't tell which photo was which with the two wee girls stood in front of me!

We know we're getting to be proper locals these days as he even says hello to us now and then. 
The other blokes a proper pass-Nazi though, I guess they've just been told not to accept any excuse. He's seen me every day for 4 seasons now and he still made me go back for my pass when I left it in my other trousers one day last season!
