For those that know the resort the rather rickety and slow two seater from 1400m to 1600m has now been ripped out and a very shiney new six seater is going in in its place but running 200m higher, up to 1800m...
Also a new run is being built extending the Bois du Coqs that starts at about 2500m and will now go all way down to 1400m too.

Hedley, it is the old chair at 1400 they are replacing...and I agree with you about the cutting the legs off of thing and it was soooooo sloooooowwww!
When you got on the chair it was just at that height to give you a dead leg and then to trap you boots under the lip of the seat in a slightly terrifying way! I've seen plenty of people thrown off of that lift before they could get the bar down. It was like a buckung bronko for the first 10 feet. Good job they were only about 1 foot off the ground. It was just like being at the fair...I'll probably miss it really....NOT!!!!!

Found out where the new lift is going to go to now.
It will up go to around 1800m...200m higher than the old lift 2 seater chair and it will stop at the level of the restaurant that is halfway down the cretes run (the big wooden chalet style place). The lift top will be on the oppostite side of the cretes psite to the restuarant.
Shame it's not going to the cretes ridge, but it will still be a big improvement.

The secret with old chairs is to sneakily let it hit the other guys (or the wifes!) legs first to take a bit of the sting out of it

I think it's rather sad that they are replacing this lift. I used to amuse myself wondering wether all the creaks and groans coming from the cables were a harbinger of doom. Or wether it just needed a good dollop of grease.

Loads of work has been done!!! The new lift "Le télésiège des Prés" is now largely in place. The pistes between 1400m and 1800 have been reworked. A dual slalom course has been created. Loads of new snow making kit has gone in on the main pistes between 2300m and 1400m too. Finally a new 7km long blue piste has been added taking you from 2200m all the way to 1400m.
Looking forward to getting on it all.
