Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Alpe D'hues/ Oz en Oisans off piste

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

As a serial lurker I thought I'd finally post something up on here Very Happy

I'm off to Oz on Sunday (9th) and wondered if anyone knew of any ski-schools/guides that would let a single person join in their groups for a day or two of off piste/backcountry playing? I'm staying with friends but unfortunately nobody else will want to venture off the groomers.

Alternatively (and preferably if I'm honest) is there anyone about who'd like to meet up for a day or two who knows the area and would like a beeper buddy? I'm quite happy skinning (though not sure if I'll have the tourers with me yet...) and have a few months of off piste experience, but it breaks my heart not having anyone to ski with!

Cheers, Nick

There is info on mountain guides out of ADH here... http://www.alpedhuez.com/hiver/en/105/mountain-guide---escort-office.html... should be able to hook up from Oz no probs. Of course there is ESF in Oz.

Admin's organised a trip to Alpe D'Huez departing this weekend, maybe you could hook up with them for a few days if any of them are planning any off piste

livetoski, hope you didn't mind me mentioning. I was out in Oz myself before Christmas but was with wife and kids so little chance of a meet up. I had a hang on my browser and thought I'd missed the Submit button!

Cheers for the advice Layne, I'll be sure to check out the guide office if i get stuck Very Happy

livetoski, I'd love to get in contact with your son and help him explore if you think he'd like to meet up for a bit. I know how much trouble I had some weeks getting the same time off as my house-mates when I was in Chamonix a couple of years back. Unfortunately I'm stuck somewhere down a crevasse for the moment so apparently can't pm.... if you could pm me I'll send you my email and number. No worries about the transceiver etc. I'll have mine on me throughout the week.
